Andy and Debbie Williams fall into the second category—the passionate, if not addicted, players. They met through a golfing friend, they take their clubs wherever they go, and during the winter they live conveniently on a golf course in the California desert. It may also be golf that made them decide, after several years of looking elsewhere, to keep their small house in La Quinta, just a few miles east of Palm Springs.

Stewart Williams, was born in 1909 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Harry Williams, a prominent local architect who designed the headquarters for National Cash Register. Stewart’s father decided to move to Palm Springs in an attempt to ease the distress of his wife, Una, who suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis. Williams built the house in 1965 as an occasional weekend retreat from his supercharged career. To his surprise, he liked Branson so much that he took up residence, opening his own theater and, more recently, his own restaurant. Now he and Debbie spend most of their time in just two places, Branson in the spring, summer and fall and La Quinta in the winter.

Nothing escaped his eye, and even Andy's shower had to give up a foot or two to an adjacent closet. Delivery times may vary, especially during peak periods.
